The key to all of our walleye spots is….

The bite continues to be good! Seems like the majority of walleyes are being caught in that 12-25 feet of water. Most of our fish are coming from 12-16 feet of water and some days they are a bit shallower and some days a bit deeper. The key to all of our walleye spots is that deeper water is close (that 30 ft plus water). Vertical jigging with leeches or crawlers has been good. We have also used slip-bobbers tipped with leeches. Trolling cranks has produced some nice catches as well. Fish can move around a bit so trolling cranks is a great way to cover water. Best cranks are salmo hornets or shadraps. Slow death rigs tipped with a third of a crawler have worked as well as bouncers and spinners. We are catching many up and comers with some nicer fish mixed in! Some days the bigger fish are easy to catch and other days you have to search a bit. We have had some huge northern pike of late. Several pike have been in that 38-43 inch class. All of our pike are coming out of weeds. Summer is starting to move so make sure you get out and enjoy some great fishing!!
