The fishing has remained spectacular and now the weather is just beautiful…

Fun to be a guide on Devils Lake these days!  The fishing has remained spectacular and now the weather is just beautiful.  Gone are the 90 degree days of a few weeks ago.  We are enjoying mid 70 degree highs with 10 to 15 mph winds and lots of hungry fish.  This has been by far one of the best fishing seasons Mitchell’s Guide Service has ever experienced.  These cooler temperatures have lowered the water temperature by about 10 degrees.

We are still mainly slow trolling bottom bouncers and spinners and are still catching limits of walleyes every day.  We are also catching lots of northern pike along the way and we could easily have a limit of them by the time all the walleyes are in the box if our guests wanted all of them.  Not a lot new to report, which is good because the fishing for us has been so incredible this past month and I am glad to say we have not experienced a slow down yet.

It is not too late to plan a trip with Mitchell’s Guide Service.  We have plenty of room to fit your group in and we would love to have you.  Get them kids off to school this next week or two and plan on coming to Devils Lake and fish with us.  The fall bite should be excellent too.  Plenty of summer left though and we want to remind everyone that the good fishing does not tail off here.  The month of September is one of our favorite months.  Hope to see you!!!
