Start you Engines!

Hello to everyone, well here we go! Our guide staff has taken a couple of groups out this past week with great success. We have been catching a lot of males in the 14 to 21 inch size with a couple of the big females showing up for a photo and then back in the water to do her business. The pike as usual are a fun and delicious treat with fish being caught this last week in the 12 lb range.   The weather has been difficult at times but with a little patience and a knowledgeable guide we have put some limits together. A few tips to our success has been, snap jigging plastics in coulee channels with current, tipping jigs with leeches and bouncing them off bottom, and of course we are using our favorite for this time of year which is leeches under bobbers with hooks or small jigs. After mother nature settles down in a few days use one of these techniques to help you put a limit together or simply get a hold of us at Mitchell’s Guide service to take you out and teach you these techniques. Our guide staff will be out scouting for active pods of fish daily to insure your time on Devils Lake to be a memorable one.
