Record Payout for 39th Running of the Devils Lake Chamber Tournament

The June 26-28 Devils Lake, ND Chamber Walleye Tournament offers anglers a little bit of everything and lots of walleyes. “These people know how to throw a party, and it’s all about fishing,” said tournament director Johnnie Candle, a respected Devils Lake guide and World Walleye Champion.

Based on the early interest and entries, this could very well be the biggest Chamber Tournament in its 39 year history. This will be the largest payout, also, with more than $61,000 in cash and prizes ($15,000 more than last year). First place is a guaranteed $5,000 sponsored by Devils Lake Tourism. Entry information is located at devilslakend.com.

Candle said, “This will be a very good year to sign-up. Walleye year-classes and numbers seem to be at an all-time high, and fishermen can catch them the way they like. Slip-bobbering is a favorite, but trolling and casting jigs or crankbaits also produce fish. The best thing about Devils Lake is that late June is traditionally the best bite of the year. They’re hungry and can be found anywhere.”

The “Something for Everyone” concept applies, with more opportunities for teams to win. Prize categories include:
