Fishing Report August 22, 2014

Some people think fishing slows down in August and September, not here on Devils Lake! Fishing continues to be exceptional throughout the entire lake. Presentations have been similar throughout the entire summer, with the fish not being too picky. Some of the popular presentations include trolling with either cranks or bottom bouncers with spinners. Slip bobbing and jigging along with Lindy rigs also continue to be popular especially around the bridges on Devils Lake.
As leeches become tougher to get this time of the year, many guides and anglers have been using crawlers and Gulp! with their spinners.
Anglers that have been jigging have been using leeches when possible, crawlers, and are now slowly moving towards minnows.
The overall fishing has been fantastic on Devils Lake. Practically all presentations and depths are producing fish. There is currently quite a few smaller fish in the lake so make sure to stock up on bait in order to help you weed through them to get to the larger fish.
We have all of the tackle mentioned above along with some of the hottest colors that have been working well at the Woodland Resort bait shop.
