Despite the weather… fishing is good!

Hello everyone, its been an interesting week here at Mitchell’s Guide service with about every weather pattern you can imagine hitting us for the past week. But, with a little hard work our guides were able to put some nice fish both walleyes and monster pike in the boat. There were plenty of whoppers that were photographed and released like the 29.5″ walleye pictured below that was caught  on 05-24-13. Water temps ranged 50.5 to 55.8 water was fairly clear about 1.5 feet of visibility. Tactics that worked for us were leeches under bobbers with both jigs and plain hooks, also casting wooded shorelines with plastics white or silver in color. Either a twister tail or a paddle tail worked well. Don’t rule out cranks its not to early we had to guides do very well casting cranks on wind blown shorelines. We have opening beginning June 7th, don’t hesitate to book your trip of a lifetime here!!
