Cooler weather is on its way on Devils Lake

Hello Anglers…This past week of fishing was good and bad from the reports we revieved. Hot humid weather along with very light winds made fishing some what difficult during mid-day hours. The best bite was occuring early morning or later in the evenings as temperatures were cooler. Areas that remain good fishing have been the same for quite sometime now. Over in East bay anglers reported good fishing in Stomme Addition, in front of the Dairy Farm, Foughtys Point, inside and outside of Penny Bay, Haybale Bay and south end of Black tiger. 12-20 FOW seems to be the deth for success whether your trolling cranks, spinners and bottom bouncers, or jigging and bobbering in the flooded timber. The main bay continues to be successful on Bird Island, Five Crows, Ft Totten point, Cactus Point, New mill and Old Mill bay, and the towers. If your jigging in these areas 18-35 FOW has been good, trolling get in that 15-25 FOW and troll 2.0-2.5 MPH. The Flats remains good in howards doing about anything you want along weed beds and deeper shorelines. Troll Golden Highway with cranks or spinners. Up in Pelican Angerls are reporting hit and miss with a few nicer fish. Pitching cranks on weed lines, Trolling old shorelines, and Bobbering in some of the deeper flooded trees. Moving around has been the best success rate for nicer fish. Weed through the smaller ones, be patient and you will catch you 5 keepers.

Cooler weather is on its way with some wind, hopefully the fishing for better fish will pick up a little. Good luck and good fishing, keep your line tight!
