We are getting into the spring bite and we should see some of the best fishing of the season.
Back to the freezer after one of the warmest weeks of the winter. Last week we had temps into the 40’s. This really helped shrink the snow and allow more mobility for anglers. One down side is the melt water got fairly deep on some trails and made them nearly impassable. Cold temps have allowed for this to refreeze and firm the trails back up. There are some slush pockets that will stop a vehicle in its tracks, but we have gained a lot of new ice to travel on with 4 wheel drive vehicles. Our guides had one of the best weeks last week with some very impressive perch catches. Our fish houses had a pretty fair week. This weekend was slow with the major cold front. Overall our fish house bite has been slower. We are getting into the spring bite and we should see some of the best fishing of the season. We are allowed to keep our fish houses on the lake to March 15th. All species of fish remain open year round, so all fishing will be open to the point of good ice conditions. We have 25 to 30” of good ice, so we should be able to host anglers for a few more weeks easily.
