Starting to see a transition
Fishing remains good! We are starting to see a transition with the walleyes moving deeper. There are still a lot of walleyes in shallow bays, but many are also being caught in shallow water that is close to deep water. Some good areas to work include the mouths of shallow bays and windswept shorelines. Water temps are in the mid to high 60’s and that means active fish. Best presentations have included: jigs and plastics, pitching cranks, slip-bobbering, and live bait rigging. Most days fish are in 2-12 feet of water. Lots of eater sized eyes (15-18 inchers) with some 20 inch plus fish are being caught daily. We are also catching a few pike mixed in with the walleyes. The bass are really snapping once you find them! If you have a child or even someone that has never caught a fish before, I suggest you go after the bass. They hit hard, fight even harder and are huge!
Good luck to all!!
