Snow conditions on the lake constantly getting worse.

With snow conditions on the lake constantly getting worse it’s tough to gauge how the fishing really is. Those using snowmobiles or going through the work of getting to their favorite fishing spots are doing fairly well, but access is tough. Woodland, the Casino, and Ackerman’s have been plowing trails in their areas. But on days the fishing’s tough in those areas the ability to look for more active fish is limited.

Areas where anglers are reporting some decent walleye fishing include Lake Irvin, the Golden Highway, Doc Hagens, Rocky/Military Points, the Casino area, storm sewer area, Foughty’s Point, the sunken Black Tiger road, and East Devils Lake. In these areas try sonars or chubby darters, or buckshots, kastmasters, nils, raps, and forage minnows tipped with a minnow head in water depths from 12 feet to 25 feet.

Perch fishing remains especially tough. The areas producing some fish are the mouth of Creel near Military Point, the Casino area, and East Devils Lake. Hali’s, small raps, genz worms, fat boys, and hanger rigs tipped with wax worms, minnow heads, or minnows all work at times.

Pike fishing remains good in the north end of Six Mile, Sweetwater/Morrison area, Lake Irving, and Pelican Lake. Smelt or herring with tip-ups works well. Good Luck & Good Fishing!!!
