Decent walleyes in depths from 6′ to 22′ of water!
Hello all, ice fishing season is still getting under way but with a damper in things. We recieved 17 inches of snow couple days ago which makes getting around on the lake kinda hard. Right now the snow is soft so IF you do drive, and you have another pickup with you, you should be a ble to get around. The ice I dont think is totally safe with ice from 10-16 inches. Sleds or anything with tracks will work great. As to fishing, people have been pickup up decent walleyes in depths from 6 FOW to 22 FOW. Better areas have been Doc Hagens, Mission Bay on the humps, Rocky Point, North end of six mile, Walfords bay, Ft Totten area. Find structure and you will find fish. Buck shot rattle spoons, Frostee’s and the NEW Live forage jigging baits from northland have been working the best tipped with a minnow head OR full minnow minus the head. Pike fishing remains good north end of walfords and north end of six mile bay. Perch have been slow but some being caught in front of the counrty club, dome house and south end of black tiger bay. Wax worms and spikes using smaller colorful jigs in 25-45 FOW have been working. Be safe and good luck to all!
