Mitchell’s Guide Service Hunter’s Special!

The fishing on Devils Lake continues to be very good.  This past week we caught most of our fish either pulling spinners with bottom bouncers along weedlines or trolling crankbaits.  The summer weather seems to want to hang in there enough days to make you think fall has not yet started and I think the fish are a little confused by it.  The one common demonator whether we are fishing deep or shallow the walleyes are definately more aggressive and seem to be fattening up considerably.  They are eating everything in sight to bulk up for winter.

Again we want to remind everyone that has a trip scheduled with us this fall to please bring warm clothes.  Even though we have 70 to 80 degree highs in the forecast the air is very chilly in the morning and most days it takes until 1:00 or 2:00 o’clock before the day warms up to its full potential.  The past couple of weeks very few of our guest have brought warm enough clothes.  Some of the guides do bring extra jackets with them and we have been pretty much demanding that they wear them and guess what?  The extra jackets that we brought for them have yet to be taken off!!!

Well with October less than ten days away, we want to remind all you hunters coming to Woodland in October, Mitchell’s Guide Service is again offering the “Hunter’s Special” fishing package.  This is a great addition to your time spent hunting here in the Lake Region.  Nothing better than to top off a successful hunt with an afternoon of fishing on the premier walleye lake in the country.  These trips have been very successful in the past and by the looks of schedule, many of you have already reserved you afternoon fishing trips.  We would love to have you!  Good luck and be safe out there.
