January 1st Report!
Happy New Year to everyone!
Ice conditions have remained about the same as previously reported. The next few days are going to bring us temps around 30 degrees. Use of full size vehicles is still not advised anywhere on the lake. People are primarily using ATVs, side-by-sides, snobears, and snowmobiles to navigate the ice.
Irvine: 8-10 inches
Pelican: 8-10 inches
Minnewaukan Flats: 8-11 inches
North End of 6 Mile Bay: 10 inches
Creel bay: 6-11 inches
Slush still remains on various parts of the lake. Track machines in these areas are best for getting around.
Perch are starting to become more active in the last few days. Walleyes and Pike have still been biting in shallower areas (7-20 feet). Buckshots have been the hot lure as of late. 1/16 oz in size and green, orange, and pink colors. Minnow heads and wax worms are being used to tip these lures.
We are still moving houses onto the lake and moving houses into new areas. The ice crew is working hard getting these houses set up on fish and were looking forward to see some nice fish pulled out of our houses!
Have a great start to the new year and be safe out there!
