Fishing should continue to get better and better…
Overall the bite has been good. Most days they are really snapping!! Seems like when the wind blows 30 plus or goes to flat calm, then you have to work a bit more. The key is to fish reeds. The reeds hold the shrimp and minnows, which brings in the walleyes, bass, and pike. We are still a bit behind (as far as water temp goes) but look for fish to be caught just about anywhere now. The majority of fish are still getting caught in 5-14 feet of water. We are seeing a mix of walleyes ranging between 12-25 inches, with the majority being in the 14-18 inch class. Pike seem to be sliding a bit deeper with the water temps rising. The bass are still smacking in shallow once you find them. Fishing should continue to get better and better and look for July to be a great month to fish on Devils Lake!!
Good luck to all and have a safe 4th of July!!
