Fisherman continue to report excellent fishing on most all parts of Devils Lake
Fisherman continue to report excellent fishing on most all parts of Devils Lake. Those doing the best have been trolling the edges of weedbeds or rocky points with cranks or bottom bouncers with spinners, jigging rocky points and humps, or slip bobbering in the trees. The better areas continue to be the sunken roads and humps in the Flats and Pelican Lake, Haley’s Hump, Patience Point, Doc Hagens, New Mill Bay, the Ft. Totten/Cactus Point area, the Casino area, all the bridges around the lake, Foughty’s Point and the area from there to Skadsen’s Bay, and the Black Tiger area. Try trolling cranks such as jointed shads or salmo hornets; or bottom bouncers with gold, firetiger, rainbow, or red/white spinners tipped with leeches or crawlers; or slip bobber or jig with leeches or crawlers. Anglers pitching windswept shorelines are also reporting some fish but wind is key and catching is a bit more sporadic.
Shore fisherman continue to report excellent fishing at the bridges of 57, Six Mile, and the Mauvee. Shore fisherman also continue to report a good bite near Acorn Ridge, the north end of Creel, and the Hwy 281/19 area. Lindy rigs with leeches or crawlers have been working the best. White bass are being found in these areas as well, but the windy side is key. Good Luck & Good Fishing!!!
