Devils Lake, ND – The Devils Lake Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (Devils Lake CVB) has announced their summer outdoor movie schedule. The movies will take place as night falls in Roosevelt. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, and whatever else they need to be comfortable watching the movie. A small set of bleachers will also be available.

The first movie, Firehouse Dog (2007, PC), will play on Thursday, June 19, 2014, on an inflatable screen – a respectable 16 by 9 feet. The Devils Lake CVB has partnered for this movie with the Devils Lake Rural Fire Department. The movie will play around 8:30 pm. Before the movie, come out the park and enjoy a free will donation picnic and fun activities for the kids with the Rural Fire Department.

The second movie, Life As We Know It, starring Josh Duhamel (2014, PG-13), will play on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 9:00 pm. The Devils Lake Tourism department will be partnering with Bremer Bank. Details will be out in the next couple of weeks regarding events for the evening.

The third movie of the summer series, The Lego Movie (2014, PG), will play on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 9:00 pm. Partnering with the Devils Lake Park Board, they will have many other activities throughout the evening, including a campfire. Your own tent and sleeping gear is needed. The campout is for ages 10 and under and must be supervised by an adult, but the movie at 8:30 pm is open to the public for all ages.

Suzie Kenner, Executive Director of the Devils Lake CVB recently stated, “We are very excited to provide an opportunity for families to get out and enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor movie series should provide great entertainment throughout the summer and we are very pleased to have great sponsors to help us provide food and entertainment before and during the movies.”

Roosevelt Park is located on the corner of US Highway 2 and Highway 19, and the movies will play under the band shelter. In case of inclement weather, an alternate date will be provided at a later time. If it rains earlier in the day and if it’s not raining at 8:00 pm, then come on out for the fun. Bring plastic for under your blankets.
