As water temps increase on Devils Lake anglers are finding action heating up as well

As water temps increase on Devils Lake anglers are finding action heating up as well. Most anglers are finding water temps in the mid 50’s to low 60’s with the warmer temps occurring later in the day. Anglers doing best are looking for the warmer water and working those areas.

For walleyes, anglers are doing well during the warmer afternoon periods and near dusk. Try pitching cranks such as shad raps and countdowns, or jigs tipped with plastic twister tails or powerbait into windswept shorelines. Some of the better areas have been Doc Hagens, Pelican Lake, the shallow bays of the Flats, New Mill Bay, Knudson’s Bay, Six Mile, the moving water bridge areas, Channel A, and Penny Bay.

Shore fisherman are reporting excellent fishing in the evening hours along the rip rap of the north end of Creel Bay, Six Mile Bay, Hwy 281/19 area, and the Brinsmade bridge area. Pike and white bass continue to be caught along with walleyes in most areas of the lake. Good Luck & Good Fishing!!!
